The Vista V2 can be used to carry twins or children of different ages, with an additional seat or carrycot (that can be used for overnight sleeping). Our testers were wowed by the huge basket which “fits everything you need to take with you, as well as some shopping” without the pram feeling weighed down.

In the words of parent tester Hannah, who tested this with their 23-month-old twins: “It’s a pleasure to steer, even one-handed. The buggy has great suspension that coped with mud, grass and gravel, as well as narrow and uneven pavements, and felt intuitive to use. My twins were always keen to climb in!”

The Orange provides 30 different configurations, offering parents a wide range of choice and versatility.

In the words of parent tester Jess, who tested this with their 19-month-old twins: “This buggy is really beautiful, very stylish and definitely has a luxury feel. I love the diamond pattern on the seat fabric. It folds easily and the frame is surprisingly light – even with the two seats attached.”

Silver – Out ‘n’ About Nipper Double, £629

Out 'n' About Nipper Double

Why it’s a winner: With its distinctive look, this three-wheeler double stroller from Out ‘n’ About definitely delivers on style, but what our testers loved the most was how easy it is to push. Parent tester, Ruth, who tested the Nipper Double with their newborn (in the additional carrycot) and two year old, praised the “responsive steering”, small turning circle and one-handed push, adding “the pram pretty much pushes itself!”. Making light work of rougher terrain and a deep gravel driveway with ease, it’s great for family adventures – something where the drawstring bag compartments on the back of the seat, big enough for storing essentials, come in handy.

In the words of parent tester Lara, who tested this with their 5-month-old twins: “My twins looked very comfortable and supported in both the carrycots and forward-facing seats, while the 5-point harness kept them safe and secure. Its lightness, easy steering, hidden storage and simple folding are all stand-out qualities too.”

More suited to towns and cities, the stroller handled well on paths and pavements, with our testers having no issues going up and down kerbs.

In the words of parent tester Lisa, who tested this with their 18-month-old twins: “I found the 2 baskets a good size and easy to reach from the back of the pram, and the extra storage pouches in the back of the hood were handy for my phone or wet wipes. Silver – Roma Atlas, from £450

Why it’s a winner: The Roma Atlas won over the panel with its impressive design at a reasonable price point. Our home testers found it handled both rough ground and café steps with ease – even sand didn’t cause an issue. They found it easy to set up and fold, reassuringly well-built without being too bulky, and a comfortable ride for their little ones. Our judges were most impressed with its ability to tackle varied terrains, finding, “It’s light and comfortable to push on forestry tracks and the steering is very responsive.” The array of eye-catching patterns on offer also helped it notch up points for style.

In the words of parent tester Ravi, who tested this with their 23 month old: “It's good quality and the suspension is fantastic on all terrains. Overall, a great option that can tackle different terrains with a sturdy design that can keep up with the elements. We took it to our local country park and the Nipper was in its element going over rocks, mud, puddles, grass and ice with complete ease.”

Joint Bronze – Inglesina Aptica XT, £1269

Why it’s a winner: A great all-rounder, in the eyes of our judges, who appreciated its plush good looks and luxury feel. Our home testers were enthusiastic about the Aptica XT’s merits as a travel system, and loved the cosy newborn carrycot, especially the included stand (“I loved being able to lift the carrycot straight off the pram and onto the stand to use as a cot!”). Standout features included a generous basket, and a neat, well-designed fold (“it’s great that the handle doesn’t touch the floor like it can with some other brands”). Judges felt this was a lovely option for parents who want to tackle grassy ground and parks in style.

In the words of parent tester Rachael, who tested this with their 4 month old: “This bundle provides everything you could need, including the items you didn’t know you would! Absorbs a lot of the bumps and vibration that would usually go through your wrist. Although the chassis is lightweight and easy to handle, the buggy looks and feels high quality.”

Gold – Baby Jogger Summit X3,

Baby Jogger Summit X3
Great quality, well-designed, and a comfortable ride for my baby
Parent tester Becky, who tested this with their 9 month old

Why it’s a winner: There was plenty of positive feedback for this pushchair because it worked well for both running and every day use. As a running buggy, it was found to be light, easy to steer, smooth to push – and fast. Perfect for active parents looking to smash their Personal Bests with a co-pilot along for the ride. It came into its own on smooth paths and pavements but also handled offroad terrain well. Passengers found it to be a comfortable ride thanks to the excellent suspension, deep bucket seat and large hood to shield from all weathers.

In the words of parent tester Katy, who tested this with their 1 year old: “There is plenty of growing room for my daughter so it will last us a long time, and the front wheel can easily be converted for general use if you need to nip into town post parkrun. My husband ran his fastest buggy running 5k using this, so if PBs are important to you then this piece of kit might help you achieve them."

Silver – Cybex Zeno, from £739.90

CYBEX Zeno

Why it’s a winner: The Cybex brand strapline is 'for all tomorrow's people', and our testers found the Zeno is certainly that. It is super stylish and means active parents can take their baby with them when they are running, cycling and skiing. As a running buggy, it can be pushed on flat ground or pulled with a separate attachment belt. Our testers described the cabin as exceptionally well-made and plush so little ones loved to spend time in it. It was a pleasure to push along smooth pavements and on a running track although it's not designed for offroad or bumpy ground.

In the words of parent tester Stephanie, who tested with their 10 month old: “The features and benefits of this buggy and its additional accessories have been so well thought out and this is also evident in the quality and functionality of the product."

Bronze – Out 'n' About Nipper Sport, £349

Out 'n' About Nipper Sport

Why it’s a winner: The Out ‘n’ About Nipper Sport has been a must-have for outdoorsy parents for years and our testers could see why. The excellent suspension, large air-filled tyres and fixed front wheel make it a smooth ride over all terrains, ideal for runners who want to hit the trails as well as the road with their running buggy. The zip pockets on the hood offered welcome storage for phones, snacks and keys, while the seat was found to be comfortable and roomy for older children as well as babies (the max weight is 22kg). While it was found to be a dream for those keen to run - and run fast - the fixed front wheel takes some getting used to, and makes it less easy to use around the shops and through tight spaces.

In the words of parent tester Victoria, who tested with their 10 month old and 3 year old: “It feels very well made and sturdy, was good over various terrains and so smooth that my baby (who never naps in the buggy), slept while I was out for a run.” Both my children were also very comfortable in the padded seat."

Gold – hUDOMA Chelsea Black Pram Gloves, £40

Very stylish and I do like the fur trim.
Parent tester Aanaisah, who tested this with her 8 month old

Why it’s a winner: These warm soft gloves attach to any pushchair or pram handle, keeping your hands warm while you push your baby or toddler. In the words of parent tester Danielle, who tested this with their 2 month old: “Great, functional and incredibly easy to use. Silver – Purflo Cosy Wrap Travel Blanket, £39

Why it’s a winner: This cosy blanket means you can keep your little one warm while out and about without compromising their safety by putting them in a bulky snowsuit or jacket. It can be used in prams, pushchairs and car seats and doesn’t get in the way of harnesses. Our testers liked the modern grey colour and mum Cassandra said: “It does do its job as a stay in one place blanket that can avoid needing bulky winter coats in car seats.”

In the words of parent tester Jessica, who tested this with their 5 month old: “The product is really useful when it comes to keeping your baby warm and having peace of mind over their safety. The overall product is of high quality and very soft.”
