Gold – Joie Signature finiti pushchair and Ramble carrycot, from £400

A great product! Stylish, good quality, great features and definitely value for money

Why it’s a winner: Offering a lot more than you’d expect from the budget-friendly price, this pushchair and carrycot package stood out as an excellent all-rounder for everyday use. Quick and easy to set-up, our parent tester Nicola, who tried the finiti with their 2-month-old baby and toddler, said she “loved how easy it was to fold and unfold” and found it a breeze to lift and carry, thanks to the carry handle. Navigating kerbs with ease, the finiti manoeuvred around town effortlessly, and could “even be pushed one-handed, with a toddler standing on a buggy board” according to parent tester and mum-of-2 Danielle.

Why it’s a winner: Tackling all kinds of terrain with ease, this nippy pushchair was just at home on pavements as it was on rough ground – even forest walks were no problem for the Out ‘n’ About GT. Our mums were impressed with how easy it was to push and steer, with parent tester Chloe, declaring it “the smoothest pushchair I’ve pushed”. It was easy to fold one-handed, intuitive to use and simple to switch between carrycot and seat modes. The extra seat liner was a welcome touch for when one was in the wash, as was the large hood, ideal for protection against the rain and sun.

Bronze – BabyStyle Oyster Zero Gravity, £299 (plus £179 for Oyster3 carrycot)

Why it’s a winner: This budget pushchair got the seal of approval from our testers for how well it handled uneven terrain,. Parent tester Jo, who used the Oyster Zero Gravity with their 1-month-old baby, commented that it held up well even “along a pot-hole ridden path”. Despite weighing a relatively lightweight 8.5kg, our testers agreed this stroller felt sturdy and was built to last, while its stylish and sleek appearance defied its affordable price tag. Folding down to a nicely compact size, our mums felt it was also a great choice for people with little storage space or a small car.

Gold — Bugaboo Fox 3 pushchair and carrycot, £1,045

Smooth and effortless to push, it’s a delight to use

Why it’s a winner: This stylish offering from iconic brand Bugaboo ticked all our panel's boxes on judging day, scoring highly for both looks and performance. The advanced suspension and large puncture-proof tyres mean the Fox 3 can tackle all types of ground with ease, with our home testers praising the pushchair for “gilding smoothly over even the bumpiest of terrains” with minimal effort. Our testers were fans of the intuitive fold, with all trigger buttons in white for ease of use, and loved how it can fold with the carrycot attached. Lightweight and with a relatively compact fold, it’s a great all-rounder that our parent tester, Cher, mum of one, said pushed and steered “like a dream”.

I live in the countryside and often wander off-road on walks, and it didn’t struggle at all. Even when I was walking up a hill with a coffee in one hand, pushing was easy and I felt in complete control.”

Silver — Mamas & Papas Ocarro, from £849 (plus £199 for carrycot)

Why it’s a winner: Premium fabrics and user-friendly features were some of the features that helped the Ocarro impress our panel. “Well-made, solid and very classy; I can definitely tell from the fabric and materials used that this is very good quality,” commented parent tester Sybil, after trying it out with their 4-month-old baby. The luxe padding on the seat, headrest and straps won our testers over, as did the super-cosy carrycot and mattress. Tests showed it performs well on both rough terrain and pavements, with parents finding the Ocarro feels sturdy, and “moves around with ease, even with a buggy board attached”. The extendable hood, adjustable handlebar and “wonderfully large” storage basket also got the thumbs up from our testers.

Why it’s a winner: This forward-thinking pushchair has been designed to make a parent’s life that bit easier, with testers won over by the electric assist motor which kicks in when pushing uphill, and the useful self-rocking function. "We regularly visit our local zoo which is extremely hilly and can be very steep in parts," said parent tester Fern, mum of a 2-month-old baby and toddler. "With a toddler in tow as well, this pram is a godsend." Our mums also rated the extendable hood, which gave great coverage, and the carrycot, which Fern described as “pure luxury and so cosy for a baby”.

The design is amazing, and it’s so well made; I’m so impressed by the fantastic price

Why it’s a winner: With its eye-catching giraffe print and stylish rose gold frame, this is a travel system guaranteed to turn heads. Praised for being “lightweight, compact and extremely easy to set up”, this affordable system has all you need to take you from newborn to toddler. Our testers liked the seat recline function, spacious shopping basket and the large extendable hood. Parent tester Abi, who tried the travel system with their 4 month old, said “the hood offered great shade to block out the sun for naps”. It definitely ticked the comfort box, with our little baby testers regularly falling asleep as soon as they were inside, while our mums rated how easy the car seat and carrycot were to clip on and off.

Why it’s a winner: Described by parent tester Becky, mum of a 1-month-old baby, as “a brilliant travel system with everything you can possible think of included”, this comprehensive set really does offer a fabulous set of matching accessories in one inclusive price. The Milano was hailed as “a dream to push” with one tester even rating how well it pushed over sand, thanks to the sprung loaded chassis, adjustable suspension and puncture-proof wheels. With a modern and stylish design, both the carrycot and car seat were praised by our testers as “soft and comfortable” for their young babies.

In the words of parent tester Jennifer, who tested this with their 3 month old: “The Mee-go gives a really smooth ride, is light and responsive and very easy to steer, even with one hand. I love the little extras, like the handmuffs, the zipped pocket in the hood and the loop for hanging a toy from the carrycot hood.”

Bronze – Graco Near2Me Travel System Bundle, £320

Comprising: Near2Me pushchair, Near2Me carrycot, SnugEssentials i-Size infant car seat, footmuff, raincover

Why it’s a winner: You wouldn’t usually expect innovative functions at such a low price-point, but the Near2Me pushchair boasts a fancy seat sliding mechanism to bring your baby closer to you when out and about. Incredibly easy to set up, even without the instructions, our testers agreed it offered great value for money. Straightforward to fold with two hands, it’s light to carry, with our parent tester Nikki adding she felt “comfortable folding and lifting it in and out of the car, 4 weeks post c-section”. Our testers rated the fabric which felt more high-end than the price suggests, as well as the large hood and the large basket.

Comprising: Adorra Luxe pushchair, Pebble Pro Luxe car seat, Oria Luxe carrycot, 2-in-1 Luxe footmuff

Easy to assemble, easy to swap between attachments and easy to get your baby in and out

Why it’s a winner: A top choice for travelling in style, the Adorra Luxe travel system won over our testers with the “luxurious quality” and “soft feel of the fabrics” used. The lightweight pushchair was easy to push and gave a very smooth ride, even on bumpy, steep and muddy trails. The car seat was a huge hit, offering excellent levels of comfort thanks to the newborn insert, as well as innovative features such as the magnetic buckles. The large basket also scored highly, with home tester Bethany explaining, “It's an absolutely fantastic space for when you’re out shopping with your little one.”

They’ve thought through all the little things that make life easier for a busy mum

Why it’s a winner: This premium travel system wowed with its parent-friendly features (we loved the notches on the handlebar to stop your bag sliding down) and high-end look, but where it really impressed was with its light weight (8.7kg) and compact fold. An excellent choice for urban families, parent tester Naomi commented, “I was able to fold it one handed, while carrying a baby in a carrier and a toddler in the other hand, which was brilliant for navigating the tube.” The basket is a great size, fitting in one of our tester's baby change backpack, spare blanket, three emergency cuddly teddies and a packed lunch. Important additional extras such as the Isofix base and carrycot stand make this package well worth the money.

Comprising: Priam pushchair, Lux carrycot, Cloud Z Group 0+ car seat, raincover, adapters

Why it’s a winner: As you’d expect from a trusted brand like Cybex, this travel system is packed with safety features – including the clear red and green indicators to let you know the car seat is in place – which scored highly with our testers. Plus the Cloud Z car seat rotates and reclines to near lie-flat, and manages to feel “spacious but snug at the same time”. The Priam’s all-wheel suspension provided a really comfortable ride, with home tester Elizabeth, who tested the Priam with their newborn, commenting that the one-handed steering was the best she’d ever used.

Why it’s a winner: This bumper 10-piece system includes all the accessories you need to keep your baby comfortable all year round. Praised for being versatile, our testers felt the Tinum did a great job of “handling various terrains, whilst looking stylish at the same time”. The quilted fabric and rose gold hardware add a luxurious look, so much so, one tester was stopped and asked where the pushchair was from. As well as good looks it boasts a large and spacious carrycot with a soft mattress, extendable hood and panoramic ventilation system to keep your baby cool in warmer months. Both the pushchair and car seat are lightweight, and the pushchair has a compact fold, making it easy to store.

In the words of parent tester Aimee, who tested this with their 2 month old: “I am really impressed with how smooth the Tinum is to push. I tested it on a very stony and bumpy trail, and it handled it with ease. I also love the adjustable height handle, which is quilted and comfy to hold.”

Why it’s a winner: As well as having encouraging eco-credentials, such as using recycled materials and using solar power during manufacturing, the robust Luno All Trails by Scandinavian brand Noordi impressed as an all-terrain travel system. Our testers found it was great for “pushing across gravel, grass and on pavements” and felt the one-handed steering was very easy. They also found the pushchair simple to fold and unfold. The car seat can be fitted using an Isofix base or your car’s seat belt, while clever touches such as the magnetic seat buckle, ThermoCot and peekaboo window in the carrycot scored well.

In the words of parent tester Megan, who tested this with their 1-month-old baby and toddler: “The adjustable handle height is great – my husband is 6’ 4” and I am a foot shorter, so it fits the bill! The pram feels robust yet stylish, giving a smooth, comfy ride for my baby while looking good to push.”

Gold – Chicco Goody Plus, £199

I really love this stroller! It's so light and easy to pick up and carry when folded

Why it’s a winner: With a one-handed gravity compact fold that still makes people go "Oooh!", the Chicco Goody Plus stroller is also incredibly easy to carry when folded, thanks to the bumper bar doubling up as a handle. It doesn’t bang against your legs when you carry it and it fits easily inside a small car boot. It's also surprisingly tough given its lightweight feel and push, and has a great seat recline for naps on the go. MFM judge Gemma Cartwright said: “Little design details like the clear plastic wheels and the silver frame give it a premium feel.”

In the words of parent tester Princess, who tested this with their 18 month old: “I loved how light the stroller was. I was able to hold a coffee in one hand and steer with the other, no problem! I also loved how far the hood went down. There was a particularly sunny day and the hood really gave great shade.”

Why it’s a winner: At just 5kg, the Roma Capsule3 is the lightest buggy in this category. One of our testers’ favourite features was the rucksack-style travel bag, which allows you to comfortably carry the stroller on your back. It folds simply in one motion with the click of a button; great if you have your hands full. The harness also unclips easily with a one-touch button. Parent tester Jasmin plans to take hers on holiday abroad, describing it as a “hassle-free travel buddy”.

In the words of parent tester Sophie, who tested this with their 18 month old: “This stroller is so compact and neat, handy and practical and looks good too. It also glides across the ground and easily around corners. We used the stroller on a walk around a lake with slightly rough ground but it didn't affect the easy push.”

Bronze – Silver Cross Clic, £245

Why it’s a winner: The Clic’s smart appearance and effortless steering wowed our judges with one parent tester describing it as “without a doubt, the easiest pram I have had to steer one-handed”. You can choose the angle you want it to recline to, rather than having to pick between one or two settings. The Clic folds and unfolds in seconds with the click of two buttons – an action which is simple to do one-handed while holding your child or shopping.

This pram is next level - super compact, super comfy

Why it’s a winner: The Ergobaby Metro+ is smart to look at and easy to push one-handed. It proved a big hit with our parent testers who loved the timeless design, durable materials, sturdy wheels and generous storage basket. The stroller comes in the box already set up and ready to go and is a breeze to fold and unfold one-handed. The Metro+ earned tester compliments such as “super compact”, “could not be lighter to carry” and “worth every single penny”. The pushchair seat itself is well-padded and fully reclines if your toddler wants to take a nap.

Why it’s a winner: Compact, simple to fold and smooth to steer, the Didofy Aster ticks a lot of boxes. It settles naturally into a standing fold and folds compactly with the seat on. At 6.2kg, it is lightweight enough to carry with the shoulder strap. MFM Reviews & Consumer Editor Christy McGhee was impressed by how smooth it was to push, describing it as “very nimble round the corners”. The shopping basket is also deep and easily accessible.

Why it’s a winner: A favourite among influencers, this Leclerc pushchair has a sumptuous, eye-catching design and folds up compactly with the seat on. You can also purchase an additional carrycot, making it suitable to use daily from birth. It's light to push and easy to carry when folded, weighing in at 6.6kg. Our testers described the stroller as simple to use, luxe and sleek and a buggy you'd be proud to post on your social media pages. The stroller also comes with the handy addition of a carry bag to protect the frame when travelling.

Our testers loved the one-hand fold and how easy it is to pick up and carry around. Parent tester Louise, mum of a 4 month old, said, “The designers have done a great job with reducing the weight and minimising it as much as possible while still making it safe and stylish. I struggle to lift heavy things and the Quid2 was a breeze to pick up!”

I love this stroller - it's so easy to use and manoeuvre

Why it’s a winner: All of our testers loved the brilliantly easy fold and unfold of the Aster, which can be done with one hand in a single motion. Weighing 6.2kg, it feels sturdy and testers described it as very easy to manoeuvre and a joy to steer, describing it as "nimble round corners". They also praised the flip-flop-friendly brake and spacious shopping basket which flips down for easy access. "The basket is quite deep and I like the fact you can push it back down for more access, then it pings back up to stop things slipping out," explained Christy, MFM Reviews & Consumer Editor and mum of 3.

This stroller is so smooth to steer and you can literally spin it 360⁰ on the spot

Why it’s a winner: One of the big selling points of the 6.6kg Joie Signature Tourist is that you can use adapters to pop a car seat onto the frame – turning it into a travel system – or add an additional carrycot, which is a real plus for a £200 lightweight stroller. It folds easily and there’s a carry bag to pop it in while travelling. Our testers also found it simple to set up with no instructions needed and a delight to push. "Easy to push one handed either when out with my baby in the pram and holding my toddler's hand or with just the baby and walking the dogs with the other hand," said parent tester Jen, mum to a 4 month old and toddler.

In the words of parent tester Maxine, who tested this with their 6 month old: “Considering how lightweight this stroller is, it is really sturdy and reliable! The SPF50 hood pulls really far over your baby, offering a good deal of shade - a useful feature whilst on holiday.”

Why it’s a winner: Sturdier and more solid than you might expect for a 6.5kg lightweight stroller, the Baby Jogger City Tour 2 is just as comfortable on a woodland walk as nipping around urban streets. This pushchair feels like it could be used every day and survive everything life throws at it, plus, like the Tourist it can be used with an additional carrycot and car seat. Our testers loved how well it steers. "I love how easy it is to push with one hand as my son wants to walk sometimes so I can push the stroller and hold his hand," said parent tester Ionela, who tested this with their 3 month old and toddler. You can also pop it in a handy carry bag when you travel.

I was amazed by how small and flat it was when folded – even the smallest car can comfortably accommodate it. I liked that the recline was completely customisable, with the 'clamp' control meaning you can set it to any tilt/angle that you want.”

Why it’s a winner: The Joolz Aer is great to push and simple to fold plus you can buy an additional carrycot that can fold down on the frame too. Described by judges as “smooth and nippy” and “premium and sturdy”, this 6kg stroller has a tight compact fold and is easy to pick up and carry around. Parent tester Hayleigh, mum of a 4 month old, who tested the Aer with the carrycot, really liked the portability of the Aer. "It comes within a bag which has an adjustable handle and toggle to tighten and close the bag."

Stylish, great quality and good value for money

Why it’s a winner: Offering over 20 different configurations in single and tandem mode, our testers praised the flexibility, including the ability to have a carrycot parent-facing on the top with a toddler in tandem - many other single to doubles require the carrycot to go on the bottom. The fact that the adaptors are attached to the chassis and “easily slide up and down” was another bonus – no chance of losing these! The adjustable handlebar, which one parent tester said was low enough for her 7 year old and high enough for her 6’ 4” husband to use comfortably, was a hit, as was the roomy underseat basket and additional shopping basket that can be added in single mode.

Why it’s a winner: This “luxurious and practical” buggy was a dream to set up, with home tester Emily, who tried it out with their 2 month old and 2 year old, declaring it “grandparent-proof, no instructions needed!”. The Vista V2 can be used to carry twins or children of different ages, with an additional seat or carrycot (that can be used for overnight sleeping). Our testers were wowed by the huge basket which “fits everything you need to take with you, as well as some shopping” without the pram feeling weighed down.

Why it’s a winner: Suitable for use from birth, thanks to the “surprisingly big” plush and cosy carrycot, which can be used for overnight sleeping – the iCandy Orange also boasts an integrated ride-on board for an additional toddler. With an intuitive fold, the stroller folds down to a “very compact” size, with home tester Kim, mum to a baby and toddler, commenting that it only took up half of the boot of her Dacia Duster, “allowing space for shopping, even with both seats”. The Orange provides 30 different configurations, offering parents a wide range of choice and versatility.

A breeze to use, it's neat and petite when folded down

Why it’s a winner: Wowing our testers with its compact size – “it’s smaller than many single pushchairs when folded,” commented parent tester Hollie, mum to 1-year-old twins – the Tour 2 Double is narrow, lightweight for a double and can fit through almost all standards doors. It's also car seat compatible and you can purchase additional carrycots for newborns, plus it has a deep and secure basket. Our testers were impressed with the amount of features on offer for less than £500, including comfortable recline settings and a large hood with peekaboo panel. Perfectly suited for pavements, our testers felt the stroller “glided along” effortlessly around town – exactly what you want when pushing two children.

Our testers were particularly impressed with how easy the Push Me DUBL was to manoeuvre, with parent tester Pam, mum to a 6-month-old baby and a toddler, commenting “even on very bumpy paths, it still feels very smooth.” Sturdy yet lightweight, our mums also liked how the seats were easy to wipe clean.

Why it’s a winner: With its distinctive look, this three-wheeler double stroller from Out ‘n’ About definitely delivers on style, but what our testers loved the most was how easy it is to push. Parent tester, Ruth, who tested the Nipper Double with their newborn (in the additional carrycot) and two year old, praised the “responsive steering”, small turning circle and one-handed push, adding “the pram pretty much pushes itself!”. Making light work of rougher terrain and a deep gravel driveway with ease, it’s great for family adventures – something where the drawstring bag compartments on the back of the seat, big enough for storing essentials, come in handy.

Why it’s a winner: This cool double stroller is the perfect way of making a style statement when you’re with your children. The modern black geometric design got the thumbs up from our mums, as did the ease of folding and unfolding the stroller and the purse-friendly price. Our testers all praised its compact size when folded and parent tester, Lisa, who tested this out with their toddler twins, commented on how well it fitted into her car boot. More suited to towns and cities, the stroller handled well on paths and pavements, with our testers having no issues going up and down kerbs.

User-friendly features, smooth to push, and great suspension for a comfy ride

Why it’s a winner: UPPAbaby have rolled into the all-terrain market with ease, offering a sturdy off-road buggy combined with the brand’s signature user-friendly features. Judges noted the Ridge offers more than just the essential tough-terrain must-haves, such as large wheels, great suspension and a handbrake – for example, it can be combined with an additional carrycot or car seat to use from birth, or a ride-on board for a 2nd passenger. A large basket, easy fold, good-sized hood and puncture-free tyres also impressed our parent testers, helping the judges name it the top choice for parents in the countryside.

It is on the expensive side but the quality does show. The materials are sturdy and the build is really solid, and it’s easy to see the Ridge will last. Why it’s a winner: The Roma Atlas won over the panel with its impressive design at a reasonable price point. Our home testers found it handled both rough ground and café steps with ease – even sand didn’t cause an issue. They found it easy to set up and fold, reassuringly well-built without being too bulky, and a comfortable ride for their little ones. Our judges were most impressed with its ability to tackle varied terrains, finding, “It’s light and comfortable to push on forestry tracks and the steering is very responsive.” The array of eye-catching patterns on offer also helped it notch up points for style­.

It tackles mud, grass, gravel, woodland, and rocky pathways in the park all without any difficulty in steering, with a nippy turning circle. Why it’s a winner: A solid no-frills power buggy at a reasonable price, our judges loved how well the Nipper handled tough ground while weighing in at below 10kg. "Fantastic suspension" on all terrains, “amazing brakes" and “a joy to use” were some of the comments from our parent testers. The sturdy, functional design really delivered on rougher ground, with judges reporting the suspension kicked in to absorb bumps along the path, giving mini testers a comfy ride. Our team of judges also noted its neat turning circle and roomy seat.

Why it’s a winner: A great all-rounder, in the eyes of our judges, who appreciated its plush good looks and luxury feel. Our home testers were enthusiastic about the Aptica XT’s merits as a travel system, and loved the cosy newborn carrycot, especially the included stand (“I loved being able to lift the carrycot straight off the pram and onto the stand to use as a cot!”). Standout features included a generous basket, and a neat, well-designed fold (“it’s great that the handle doesn’t touch the floor like it can with some other brands”). Judges felt this was a lovely option for parents who want to tackle grassy ground and parks in style.

Great quality, well-designed, and a comfortable ride for my baby

Why it’s a winner: There was plenty of positive feedback for this pushchair because it worked well for both running and every day use. As a running buggy, it was found to be light, easy to steer, smooth to push – and fast. Perfect for active parents looking to smash their Personal Bests with a co-pilot along for the ride. It came into its own on smooth paths and pavements but also handled offroad terrain well. Passengers found it to be a comfortable ride thanks to the excellent suspension, deep bucket seat and large hood to shield from all weathers.

Why it’s a winner: The Cybex brand strapline is 'for all tomorrow's people', and our testers found the Zeno is certainly that. It is super stylish and means active parents can take their baby with them when they are running, cycling and skiing. As a running buggy, it can be pushed on flat ground or pulled with a separate attachment belt. Our testers described the cabin as exceptionally well-made and plush so little ones loved to spend time in it. It was a pleasure to push along smooth pavements and on a running track although it's not designed for offroad or bumpy ground.

Bronze – Out 'n' About Nipper Sport, £349

Why it’s a winner: The Out ‘n’ About Nipper Sport has been a must-have for outdoorsy parents for years and our testers could see why. The excellent suspension, large air-filled tyres and fixed front wheel make it a smooth ride over all terrains, ideal for runners who want to hit the trails as well as the road with their running buggy. The zip pockets on the hood offered welcome storage for phones, snacks and keys, while the seat was found to be comfortable and roomy for older children as well as babies (the max weight is 22kg). While it was found to be a dream for those keen to run - and run fast - the fixed front wheel takes some getting used to, and makes it less easy to use around the shops and through tight spaces.

Very stylish and I do like the fur trim.

Why it’s a winner: These warm soft gloves attach to any pushchair or pram handle, keeping your hands warm while you push your baby or toddler. The fabric is wind and water-resistant and the faux fur lining will keep your fingers toasty. They're the brain child of a mum-of-2 who designed them to get through the punishing winters whilst living in New York. Judges liked that you could still grip the pushchair firmly even though the gloves were super thick. Comments included: “the fur feels gorgeous” and “feels and looks expensive”.

The fact you can leave them attached to the pram is a godsend for any mum rushing around sorting everything out for your little one and inevitably forgetting about yourself. Silver – Purflo Cosy Wrap Travel Blanket, £39

Why it’s a winner: This cosy blanket means you can keep your little one warm while out and about without compromising their safety by putting them in a bulky snowsuit or jacket. It can be used in prams, pushchairs and car seats and doesn’t get in the way of harnesses. The cotton lining is gentle on sensitive skin while the mesh panels at the back help to avoid your baby overheating. Our testers liked the modern grey colour and mum Cassandra said: “It does do its job as a stay in one place blanket that can avoid needing bulky winter coats in car seats.”

Why it’s a winner: This handy accessory clips onto your pram or pushchair and will hold a cup or water bottle and your mobile phone too. The cup holder has three flexible clamps so it can hold a range of sizes but you'll need to check that your smartphone is compatible with the phone holder (and obviously you'll need to keep an eye on your phone at all times) . Our judges described it as “well made and sturdy”. At less than £10, it offers good value for money and includes a clip you can hang bags from.
