Why it’s a winner: This versatile pushchair has the potential to last from birth right up to the point where your little one wants to walk everywhere themselves. Why it’s a winner: With soft and durable fabrics, an easy-set up and smooth-running features, our judges felt the Balios S Lux had the premium feel of a much more expensive pushchair. Although you can use the separate carrycot, one big plus point with the pushchair is that its seat unit can also be safely used from birth in its lie-flat position. The seat is large and comfortable and you can fold it with one hand with the seat still attached. It will then stand up by itself when folded which makes storage easier. Our judges and testers liked the fact it could be easily pushed with one hand, with one mum describing it as a "joy to push".

Why it’s a winner: Strong and stylish, the Vista V2 is a standout pushchair with an excellent carrycot and toddler seat. If you’ve ever struggled to put your pram down in a hurry, you’ll love the fact it folds and unfolds simply and swiftly. Parent tester Holly was impressed, saying: "Granny suffers greatly with arthritis but even she found it easy to fold away." Judges found its adjustable features, from the reclining seat and range of pushbar heights to the adjustable straps, all worked incredibly smoothly. Weighing in at a lightweight 7.5 kg, despite being a compact stroller there is a spacious seat with a large canopy and tall backrest, and it’s suitable for children from birth up to 22kg. Judges noted there are lots of handy functions including a one-handed automatic fold, ability to stand independently when folded, puncture-proof wheels, a 4-position recline and adjustable footrest. Why it’s a winner: This is a stylish and super-lightweight pram that’s built for travelling. Weighing in at only 5.9kg, the folded size is 46.5cm x 58cm x 19cm, meaning that for most airlines it is cabin size when folded down. Our judges praised the sleek Italian design and handy features including a one-handed instant fold, where the handlebar doesn’t touch the ground. Suitable from birth to 22kg, despite the small size there’s a reclining seat that will fit older toddlers and pre-schoolers. Why it’s a winner: "This stroller has felt life changing as a new mum of twins" was the verdict of a multiples mum and parent tester about the Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Double Stroller. Despite being a side-by-side pram for two children, the design emphasises compactness, weighing only 10.5 kg and measuring 66.5cm side, meaning it can fit through a standard doorway. Our judges felt it deserved gold for significantly easing pressure on parents when it comes to getting out and about with two children. Why it’s a winner: Sturdy, easy to set up and great on all terrains, our judges thought the Out 'n' About Nipper Double V5 was a worthy gold award winner. Despite being a side-by-side design, at 72cm it can fit though a standard door. Suitable from newborn to 4 years old, it can carry 2 children of different ages and sizes and can be used with one or two parent-facing carrycots. The seats are spacious, recline separately and have individual retractable sun canopies with UV sun visors. To guarantee a smooth ride for passengers even on bumpy ground, there is rear wheel suspension and a 360-degree swivel front wheel.
