Best Body Wash
A gentle body wash is a great choice for babies and bigger kids alike. Perfect for creating as many bubbles as you like, a body wash is a convenient option for bathtime or for older children to use independently in the shower.
Our community of real parents and their children put a range of kid-friendly body washes to the test. Lathering up at bathtime, they looked at how gentle each formula was, the choice of scents and whether they offered value for money. These are our winners.
Gold: Kokoso Baby Gentle Hair & Body Wash

The smell is incredible and with just a single pump you get a gorgeous lather. The texture is gentle, yet rich and creamy and it feels indulgent, like a spa day for my baby!
MadeForMums Editorial Team say: "We loved how luxurious and gentle this body wash felt and how effective it was for our testers whose babies have eczema."
Joint Silver: The Kids Bathing Co. Bath & Showergel

You only need the tiniest dot to create a gorgeous foam in the shower or lots of bubble in the bath. I love the different 'grown-up' scents – the Shea and Coco was so soothing. They bring a little bit of luxury to my daughter's bathtime and I really like that they support children's charities too.
MadeForMums Editorial Team say: "Made for kids, but so good you'll want to be lathering up with them too, these really are a lovely range of shower gels that can help make your kids feel a little bit grown up."
Available from: The Kids Bathing Co.
Joint Silver: Mini U Tropical Berries Hair & Body Wash

The pump bottle makes it easy for my child to use. It smells delicious (everyone comments on it) and I love that the formula is cruelty free, includes no microplastics and is suitable for newborns. It's definitely worth the price.
MadeForMums Editorial Team say: "We love this as it can double up as a shower gel and shampoo, making it perfect for swim bags (and getting rid of that chlorine smell!) and at home."
Bronze: Paddington Baby Head to Toe Body Wash

It feels like a luxurious soap, with a lovely but not overpowering scent. It lathers nicely without being too bubbly, is gentle on the eyes and leaves my son's skin feeling very soft.
MadeForMums Editorial Team say: "An adorably themed Paddington bottle, this baby body wash left our testers babies smelling just as you would expect a baby to – all powdery and fresh."
Best Bubble Bath
Turn bathtime into a splashingly good time with an extra-bubbly bubble bath. Guaranteed to deliver all the giggles, a bath full of bubbles is sure to win over even the most reluctant of water babies.
Our parent testers ran countless baths for our mini testers, to try out a variety of bubble baths suitable for children's sensitive skin. Looking at everything from fragrance and ingredients to, most importantly, the quantity of bubbles produced, they shared their verdict on the best bubble bath around. Introducing our winners...
Gold: Kit & Kin Baby Bubble Bath

This contains eco-friendly, natural ingredients, caused no irritation to my baby's sensitive skin and didn't irritate eyes when my children had bubbles on their faces. It creates a good amount of bubbles and left my children's skin hydrated.
MadeForMums Editorial Team say: "We loved that a little goes a long way with the Kit & Kin; if your child is a fan of bubbles, look no further, as this makes bubbles galore!"
Silver: Thomas & Friends Bubble Bath with Toy Topper

For a Thomas fan this bubble bath is so, so exciting as the lid can be used as a lovely little Thomas bath toy. The bubbles lasted over 20 minutes in the bath, which my son loved as he could keep making his bubble beards – he didn't want to get out!
MadeForMums Editorial Team say: "It was all about the little Thomas! A must for all Thomas fans, this cute toy provided so much fun in the bath, and made lovely bubbles to boot."
Bronze: Mini U Sparkling Strawberry Bubble Bath

The colour change element is great and was very exciting – my daughter loved the fact this bubble bath turned the bath pink and said it was like a 'potion'. The bottle felt sturdy; often I have bubble bath bottles that leak but this one didn't.
MadeForMums Editorial Team say: "Well, who doesn't want pink bath water?! We also loved it doesn't matter how pink the water gets, it won't stain your bath or towels, like some other bath products can."
Best Hair Product
Looking after your child's hair doesn't have to be hard work. With the right products it's a breeze to sort out tangles and style your mini-me's hair, whatever the length or texture.
Our child testers got hands-on with a selection of hair products, spritzing and styling to pick their favourites. Their parents also shared their thoughts on packaging, formula and how easy each product was for their child to use independently. Here are our winners.
Gold: Mini U Styling Balm

Every morning my son was eager for us to style his hair and it was wonderful to see him so confident. It smells beautiful and holds hair in place well. It resembles adult styling products, which makes my 7 year old feel very grown up.
MadeForMums Editorial Team say: "We thought this was a great first hair balm product, for kids looking to tame their hair and give it a bit of definition. Testers said it rubs into hair easily with a nice invisible matt finish, and it washes out super easy. We loved it!"
Silver: Mini U Fresh Apple Detangling Spray

You only need a little mist of this spray to brush through hair – it really helps get rid of horrible knots and leaves hair smooth with no sticky feeling. It has the most amazing apple smell; my daughter says it 'smells good enough to eat'!
MadeForMums Editorial Team say: "Anything that makes hair brushing easier is great in our book, and we loved this gorgeous apple-scented mist."
Best Oral Care
Setting good oral health habits from the start is so important, and a cute toothbrush and toothpaste with plenty of kid-appeal is the perfect way to get your children excited about brushing their teeth.
Our little testers made sure their teeth were sparkling clean, testing out a mix of oral care products to give us their valued opinions. Along with their parents they rated each product for how easy it was to use, if it did the job well and whether it was worth the money. These are our winners.
Gold: Frida Baby Grow-With-Me Training Toothbrush Set

We've tried a wide range of toothbrushes and my daughter has never tolerated brushing her teeth as well as she has with these. The design makes it easy for babies and toddlers to hold and I love that the bristles change colour when the brush needs replacing.
MadeForMums Editorial Team say: "We were bowled over with this 2-brush set. It has a brilliant, innovative design which helps familiarise babies with holding a toothbrush and, once they move on to the next stage, the toddler brush."
Silver: CoComelon Children's Strawberry Flavoured Toothpaste

My son was very excited that JJ was on the tube – he has exclaimed the toothpaste as his and only his! The lid is easy to open and the tube easy to squeeze, perfect for the independent toddler.
MadeForMums Editorial Team say: "We loved this as some minty pastes can be too 'spicy' as our child testers have said, but this strawberry-flavoured paste with a hint of mint makes it a great transition to adult flavours."
Best Post-Bath Skincare Product
Delicate skin sometimes needs a helping hand, and a baby-friendly moisturiser is a great way to soothe and hydrate post-bath. Whether it's treating dry patches or chapped skin, these are some of the best balms to reach for.
Taking into consideration how well each cream absorbed, how gentle it was on even the most sensitive skin and the difference it made, these are the post-bath skincare products that our little testers and their parents loved the most.

Lovely for mums too, we might add – a quick swipe on the lips and the back of the hands, it really is a wonder stick!"

A really luxurious product that feels like butter on the skin. It's incredibly hydrating without leaving a sticky, greasy residue and I was pleasantly surprised with how it melted into the skin.

Joint Silver: Colief Baby Face Balm Stick

This is one of the best sensitive skin products I've used. When used on particularly dry areas, the balm gets to work almost instantly and makes the area seem less red and angry, and dry patches more hydrated. It's now a staple in our house.
MadeForMums Editorial Team say: "We were wowed by one of testers testimonials about this product, we had to share it. She said 'This is one of the best sensitive skin products we've used. Since NICU, Cleo has had very dry and sensitive skin especially on the areas where she had tubes and plasters. This balm lasts the day, compared to other brands.'"
Bronze: Pura Nappies and Nappy Pants

What stands out is the thoughtful design for sensitive skin. My son stayed comfortable and I noticed no redness or discomfort, even after extended wear. I love that these are sustainable, too.

Best Shampoo
Sometimes washing your child's hair can be a bit of a battle, particularly if they don't like getting water in their eyes. A cute, kid-friendly, no-sting shampoo with eye-catching packaging always helps.
Our parent testers got to work, lathering and rinsing their children's hair with a mix of shampoo designed specifically for babies and little kids. Rating each one on fragrance, how soft they left the hair, whether they were worth the money and if they delivered that crucial kid-appeal, these are our winners.

Silver: Mini U Tropical Berries Hair & Bodywash

The packaging is colourful and nicely designed – my kids were quite interested in 'Wanda the Whale' and Wanda even persuaded our 2 year old to let us wash his hair! I like that it's entirely natural, vegan and cruelty free.
MadeForMums Editorial Team say: "We love the fruity kick of the Tropical Berries; it's also great for swimming bags as it doubles as a body wash."
