These Christmas-tree and star-shaped potato bakes are packed with Christmassy flavours of sage and cranberries. They're designed with finger-food eating babies in mind but we reckon the whole family will want to nibble away at these!

You'll need a baking sheet and a set of cookie cutters that include a Christmas tree and a star. We like this set from Etersion which have a nice raised grip – great for letting children join in with the shape cutting.

  • 100g sweet potatoes, peeled and grated
  • 100g cooked potato, mashed
  • 50g Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 2 spring onions, finely chopped
  • 25g Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tbsp fresh sage, chopped
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 4 tbsp self-raising flour
  • 20g dried cranberries, finely chopped

    Method

    • step 1

Preheat the oven to 180°C/Fan 160°C/350°F/Gas mark 4

    • step 2

Put the grated sweet potatoes into a tea towel and squeeze out as much liquid as possible. Place in a bowl. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well

    • step 3

Place a Christmas tree and a star cookie cutter onto a baking sheet. Spoon the mixture into the cutters and press down to fill the space

    • step 4

Repeat with the remaining mixture until you've made about 12 shapes, leaving space in between each of them

    • step 5

Bake in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes, until pale golden and set in the middle
