After welcoming twin boys 7 weeks early, Celine Dion has finally named her new arrivals.

Admitting her and her husband, Rene Angelil, had gone through “nearly 15,000 names”, the couple have settled on two English choices, Eddy and Nelson.

The name Eddy is thought to be after record producer Eddy Marnay who worked with Celine on her first five records, while Nelson was chosen after Nelson Mandela who the couple met in South Africa a few years ago.

Announcing the choices, Celine’s rep said both were named after people who inspired the new parents.

While Eddy Marnay was a major influence on Celine, Nelson Mandela was an obvious choice for new dad, Rene. “Rene said that in the few minutes they were able to spend with him, they were impressed by the human being he is,” announced her rep.
