US baby name website Nameberry has revealed their hottest names for 2017... and there are definitely a few interesting ones in the list.

By clocking which names gained the most web traffic in the 1st month of the year, and comparing with the previous year, they've managed to figure out which names are trending - and which names we might be seeing more of in the future.

In the girls' names, it's clear to see the Hollywood influence with monikers like Ines (Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' daughter's name), Moana (the animated film) and Portia.

But you can also see global influence thanks to Russian name Tatjana, the Persian name Alizeh and Arabic name Noor breaking the top 25.

As for the boys, we reckon Bowie, Arrow and Sherlock might have something to do with their celeb connections.

Though for both lists, Nameberry also noted that many of the names seem to be variations on names that were trending in 2016.

The popular site reckons that Alden is a play on Aiden, and Kyra is the new Kaia - and that this applies to loads of these up-and-coming names.
