Outrage after mum carries baby in handbag
Chinese mum claims she was making a joke but it backfired and went viral…
First there were dogs in designer handbags, now babies?
This picture of a baby being carried in a designer handbag has gone viral – for all the wrong reasons. The picture of Chinese mum Xue Hsueh, 26, and her 9-month-old baby was taken while she went to meet friends. Her friend took the image and Xue liked it so much she uploaded it online.
But rather than just circulating among her friends, the picture was widely shared with lots of people sarcastically lauding it as the latest trend. "Designer babies, the latest accessory that every woman must have," user WuLei34 posted. "I wonder what she will do when the straps break on her handbag?" another user, LucyX added.
But the mum defended the pictures and posted online that the baby had only been in the handbag briefly while she chatted to her friends. She said putting her baby in the bag was a joke about how men look after babies. She posted the picture online because it looked sweet and wanted to raise a smile.
She also said that it was clear that her son thought it was fun being in the bag and the picture showed he was enjoying himself. Hmmm, we'd say if that's him enjoying himself, we wouldn't want to see him when unhappy.
What do you think? Is it outrageous or a bit of fun?
