Playmobil launches first pregnant figure
Toy giant responds to children’s requests
Toy manufacturer Playmobil is launching a brand new character in its Figures Series 3 range this week, called ‘Pregnant Woman’.
The new figure, part of the mystery bag collectables range, is the first ever pregnant character and, according to the company, comes in response to requests from children all round the world, who send in hundreds of drawings and ideas every month of what they’d like to play with.
Playmobil UK marketing director Jamie Dickinson said, “We know how much children love to create things they see around them in everyday life, so we’re thrilled to introduce the very first pregnant Playmobil figure to this collection.”
The new figure is 7.5cm tall and appears to be in the early stages of pregnancy, perhaps so she doesn’t topple over.
The Figures series is the toy giant’s biggest seller and each cost £1.99. Other characters in the range include an Ice Hockey Player, a Caribbean Drummer, a Bride and a Special Agent.
