Toys R Us Wiggle Ball toy: safety recall
Also called the Giggle Ball, this toy is being recalled following reports of the toy breaking apart and posing a choking hazard
The popular Bruin Infant Wiggle Ball toy has been recalled by retailer Toys R Us, due to safety concerns.
The store is urging parents to stop using the toy immediately as there’s a risk that the Wiggle Ball’s rubber knobs and plastic back can "detach from the ball creating small parts and posing a choking hazard".
The recall comes after the retailer received six reports of rubber parts breaking off in the States and in some cases, being found in babies’ mouths.
The toy company is recalling all Wiggle Balls and asking parents to return them to any Babies R Us or Toys R Us for a refund.
Toys R Us has already recalled 30,000 toys in the US and taken 3,000 off the shelves in Canada. It's now taking action to remove them from stores in the UK.
Earlier this year the retailer also recalled the TOMY Lamaze Munching Max chipmunk soft toy after finding a risk that a part inside the baby toy could break and create a sharp point that might then poke through the fabric surface.
