Mums Melanie and Vanessa Iris Roy became pregnant a year apart
You might need to look twice to see what's happening in this photo – because mums Melanie and Vanessa Iris Roy are posing pregnant exactly a year apart.
The first picture on the left was taken in January 2014 when Vanessa Iris was pregnant with their son Jax, and the picture on the right in January 2015 when Melanie was pregnant with their daughter Ero. Little Jax sits happily playing beneath his mums with vibrant red hair!
"Trading places," Melanie commented.
The picture has now gone viral after being featured on LGBT sites. "It's crazy to see that people were referring to my family as an inspiration. We are still in complete shock," Melanie told The Huffington Post.
But they now hope their side-by-side photos will inspire other gay couples. "Vanessa and I have always said we would both like to carry," she said. "The woman's body is incredible. The way it creates and grows another human being is amazing. We hope that our picture is that sign that some women may need to encourage them to carry a child."
