Woman gives birth on the toilet to surprise baby
Welsh supermarket worker Gaynor Rzepka had no idea she was pregnant
Gaynor Rzepka didn’t know she was pregnant – until she gave birth while sitting on the toilet.
The 25-year-old from Llantwit Major, Glamorgan, awoke with sharp pains in the early hours of February 16, according to the Metro.
Thinking she needed the toilet, Gaynor went to the bathroom but gave birth instead!
She said: “I just pushed and he arrived. I caught him before he went into the toilet. I was really shocked.”
Olly-James weighed 6lb 5oz and was healthy.
She added: “My first words were just repeating: ‘Oh my God.’ I didn’t know what else to say. I burst into tears and sat on the floor. My mum said: ‘It’s a baby’ and my dad was saying, ‘Don’t worry, keep calm’.”
Gaynor insists she had no idea she was pregnant and claims she continued to have periods and experienced little weight gain.
She continued her job at a supermarket right up until she gave birth, and even ran the Cardiff half marathon 5 months into her pregnancy.
Gaynor said: “I didn’t have any signs, no morning sickness, no pain, no heartburn, nothing at all. I had periods all the way through. I didn’t really put on very much weight until Christmas, and I just thought that was a Christmas belly.”
She said in hindsight, the only clue was a craving for Mars bars, which she usually hates.
