Adele shows off her tattoo tribute to son
Check out the latest celebrities to join the parent tattoo trend...
Adele
It seems that following the birth of her son, Adele is officially back on the celeb scene following a memorable appearance at the Golden Globes last month and her appearance at the Grammys last night.
While the busy mum is mingling with celebs it seems her newborn son Angelo is never far from her mind, with the singer showing off a brand new tattoo which is thought to be a tribute to her little boy.
The singer revealed a simple letter 'A' tattooed just behind her ear. It could stand for 'Adele,' but we reckon it's actually a tribute to her baby. The tattoo was clearly visible with Adele wearing her hair in her trademark chic up 'do.
The multi-award winning star isn’t the only celeb to indulge in some permanent ink tributes. Check out some of our favourite celebrity parents who have tattoos in honour of their children...
Coleen Rooney
Coleen Rooney took her devotion to son Kai a step further by having her little boy’s name inked on her wrist.
The italic ‘Kai’ tattoo was spotted in 2010 when she and 6-month-old son Kai were in Barbados. Coleen is believed to have had it done on holiday, however, she isn’t the first Rooney family member to dedicate an inking for baby Kai – her footballer hubby Wayne Rooney got there first! Wayne’s tattoo, which features a clasped palm with angel wings across his back, is said to represent being a dad.
David Beckham
Celeb dad-of-four and tattoo enthusiast, David Beckham, has a blanket of tattoos across his body including a guardian angel with his son’s names underneath. “Mine are all about the people in my life, my wife and sons, who I want with me always. When you see me, you see the tattoos. You see an expression of how I feel about Victoria and the boys. They're part of me,” the footballer explained.
The latest edition to David Beckham's body art is 'Harper' scrawled across his chest - a tribute to his little girl Harper.
Angelina Jolie
Another celebrity parent who likes to make regular trips to the tattooist’s needle is mum-of-six Angelina Jolie. The eccentric mama is notorious for her choice of personalised tats, including a half-body length tiger down her back and ‘know your rights’ across the back of her neck.
However, the most famous are the map co-ordination markings across her arm and down her right shoulder blade, which represent the dates and birthplace of all her six children.
Eminem
Another celeb parent who is covered in tattoos is rap star Eminem. The controversial rapper uses his body to tell his life story and has an eerily realistic illustration of his now 15-year-old daughter’s face when Hailie Jade was a toddler.
Liev Schreiber
It seems that having a tattoo in celebville is no longer looked down on but rather a way of using your body as a canvas of memories – as Liev Schreiber recently proved. Naomi Watt’s other half spoke out recently on the reasons why he chose to scrawl his two sons names on his body. "I'm not really a tattoo person at all, but I thought it just be a wonderful reminder of how much I love them,” Liev told New York magazine.
Lawrence Fox
Lawrence Fox stepped out with a new tattoo shortly after he became a dad. The actor, who’s married to former Doctor Who star Billie Piper, showed of a new inking of a small “W” behind his ear, which is believed to be a tribute to his eldest son, Winston.
Michelle Heaton
Celeb mum Michelle Heaton joined the inked famous parents earlier this year, adding her daughter Faith’s name to her wrist when she was 1-month-old.
Beyonce
Bootylicious celebrity mum Beyonce, aka Blue Ivy’s mum, has the Roman numeral “IV” tattooed on her finger, which as well as the number 4 having significance for her and hubby Jay-Z’s wedding anniversary also sounds like her daughter's name Ivy.
