Adult channel pops up on children’s TV
TV bosses sorry over mix up in America
TV bosses in America have apologised after previews of an adult channel were played out on two children’s channels.
A spokesman for Time Warner Cable blamed a “technical hitch” for the channel showing previews of the Playboy channel on Kids On Demand and Kids Preschool On Demand TV channels in the States.
The clips from Playboy TV, including naked women having explicit conversations, were shown in the top right hand corner of the screen where previews of other children’s shows are usually placed.
In some parts of America the previews for Playboy were shown for over two hours before being pulled.
Spokesman Keith Poston said the TV channels were “very, very sorry it happened”, adding that the problem hit “at the worst possible time on the worst possible channels”.
