Alyssa Milano’s breastfeeding selfie
Charmed actress tweets the ‘joy of suckling’
Alyssa Milano has shared a breastfeeding selfie with her 7-week-old daughter Elizabeth. Hats off to Alyssa - even if you feel completely comfortable breastfeeding in public, it's still a brave move to put a photo like this in the public domain. We love it! In the picture, which she's posted on Instagram, the Charmed actress looks up into the camera while her newborn feeds happily away.
The 41-year-old took the opportunity to share a quote from Czech writer Milan Kundera about breastfeeding. "Ah, the joy of suckling! She lovingly watched the fishlike motions of the toothless mouth and she imagined that with her milk there flowed into her little son her deepest thoughts, concepts, and dreams," she commented.
For the picture, Alyssa even took the time to find that one elusive Instagram filter that will wash out your sleep-deprived eye bags. What? That filter doesn’t exist?!
The naturally bright-eyed Alyssa also has a 3-year-old son with her husband David Bugliari. And she recently announced that she’d quit the ABC series Mistresses, as it was moving production from Los Angeles to Vancouver.
"After 2 wonderful seasons in Los Angeles, the studio has decided to shoot season 3 of Mistresses in Vancouver, Canada for financial reasons," she tweeted. "It's with a heavy heart that I have decided that I can't relocate. I have two babies under 4. Being a mother and wife comes first and I just can not uproot my children and separate the family by moving away."
Anyway, career decisions and Instagram skills aside, what do you think of the picture? Would you share a picture of your child feeding on social media? Let us know in the comments below.
