TOWIE's Amy Childs reveals her VERY vintage baby name
We weren't expecting this old-fashioned moniker from the new mum...
Former TOWIE star Amy Childs has revealed her newborn’s name - and it’s not what we were expecting.
The new mum, who welcomed a daughter with partner Bradley Wright on 30 April, announced to OK! magazine that her baby girl is called… Polly!
We have to admit, we’d never have guessed she’d go for such a vintage name, perhaps because we’re so used to seeing slebs make very showbiz choices.
Traditionally thought of as an alternative to Molly, this not-so-common moniker is much ‘peppier', according to Nameberry.
It’s also featured in songs by the likes of Nirvana and The Kinks, and in C.S. Lewis’s The Chronicles Of Narnia.
We also reckon this old-school name brings to mind enthusiasm, optimism and happiness ???
26-year-old Amy explained her reason for the choice, telling the mag:
"Her full name is Polly Childs-Wright. We like traditional names."
"Before the birth we liked India. Another name we liked was Elsie and she definitely isn't an Elsie. Brad suggested Polly first. It's a bit unusual.”
Sounds very similar to One Direction’s Liam Payne, who recently admitted he would’ve preferred a classic name choice for his new son, baby Bear...
