Artist uses baby bumps as canvas
A painter is using pregnant bellies to showcase her works of art
Four heavily pregnant women will act as a canvas for an artist who wants to celebrate the beauty of birth.
Fran Heaver, a mother herself, will be using non-toxic paints to create works of art on the bellies of the mums-to-be.
The Birthing Centre in Halstead Hospital, Essex, will be turned into a painters’ studio but using preggie bumps rather than easels. Artist Ms Heaver, told the local newspaper, Briantree and Witham Times, “Women tell me they find the whole experience relaxing.”
Photographs of the painted bumps will be on show as part of a Birth Festival at the hospital on 6 June.
