Beyoncé: ‘Breastfeeding helped me lose weight’
Singer reveals how she lost the 57 pounds she gained when pregnant with Blue Ivy
Beyoncé has revealed she lost the majority of her baby weight through the natural method of breastfeeding.
The singer, who gave birth to her and husband Jay-Z’s daughter Blue Ivy in January last year, explained she dropped the 57 pounds she gained in pregnancy by feeding her little one.
“Breastfeeding took care of the first 30 pounds. I was amazed at how the weight just fell off me,” Beyoncé told Shape magazine.
“But I had to work very hard to lose the last 25 because I’d scheduled a show just three months after I gave birth. Let me tell you, I’ll never do that again.”
“I’m not a person who is naturally very thin. I am a person who has to work at keeping my body in shape.”
The ‘Single Ladies’ star, who is getting ready to embark on her ‘Mrs. Carter Show' World Tour, also offered advice to new mums who are trying to get back to their pre-baby figure.
“Everyone is not supposed to be the same. Be healthy and take care of yourself, but be happy with the beautiful things that make you, you,” adds Beyoncé.
