Hollywood superstar and father, Brad Pitt, has said it has been a big year for his 'familia' since he proposed to Angelina Jolie last April.

Pitt spoke to People magazine, conducting the interview whilst having dinner at their rented London home, with 4-year-old twins, Vivienne and Knox for companions. "It’s been a family type of year, a down-home type of year. Mama’s worked more. And quite frankly I’ve really enjoyed it."

The dishy dad is looking after the twins here in London, whilst his other children, Maddox, 11, Pax, 9, Zahara, 7, and Shiloh, 6 are in Cambodia working on the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation with 'mama' Angelina.

It has been widely reported that their children had been pestering the pair to get engaged, but the couple are yet to confirm a wedding date. Although, Pitt did confirm the kind of ceremony they will be having. "Just family," said the father-of-six. "Keep it simple – really."

One thing is for sure, he is in no doubt that fatherhood has changed him for the better. "Absolutely! [Being a dad] takes you right off yourself."

He will be turning 50 next year and is taking time out to ponder his changing priorities. "This is what I think about: 'Okay, you’re way over the mid-point [of your life]. You don’t know how much time you have left.' I want to enjoy this year more than ever."
