Brooke Shields doesn't want her daughters to be child actors
The actress reveals that she wants her two children to finish school before pursuing an acting career
Former child star and actress Brooke Shields has opened up about why she doesn't want her two young daughters to follow in her footsteps and become child actors - well, not until they've finished school anyway!
Talking about her daughters Rowan, 7, and Grier, 4, Brooke revealed to Psychologies magazine, "I would never start them as young as I did." Brooke was a controversial child star - in her first feature film role at 11, she played a catholic schoolgirl butchered during her first communion. Straight after she was cast as a 12-year-old prostitute in hit movie Pretty Baby. She then appeared naked in Blue Lagoon aged 15.
However, Brooke's reasons for wanting a different life for her daughters are surprising - the 45-year-old reveals it's because she hasn't got the time!
"For a start, my life isn't conducive to that. Selfishly, I wouldn't give up on my career to work on theirs. But if, when they have finished their education and they want to do it, I will do whatever I can to help them."
