Check if your local supermarket is doing a 'wonky' veg box
They might look a bit funny, but these healthy food boxes can feed a family of 4 for a week for just £3.50
Asda have just started selling 'wonky' looking veg for the bargain price of £3.50 – and we think it's a great idea.
Rather than refusing to sell the 'ugly' looking veg farmers produce, Asda has decided to pop all the not-so-perfect looking veggies in a family-sized money-saving box.
And so far it's going pretty well.
"The initial reception to Wonky Fruit and Veg has been fantastic," said Asda's technical produce director Ian Harrison.
"We’re excited to launch a unique and exclusive Wonky Vegetable box that is jam-packed with ugly winter veg that not only saves shoppers money but helps farmers get more of their crop onto our shelves."
Is your Asda getting involved?
