Cheryl Cole and Ashley split - dashing her baby hopes
The odds were high on a 2010 Tweedy-Cole baby, but not anymore…
Maybe Cheryl Cole should have realised things weren't quite right when she confessed that she trusted her pet Chihuahua more than her husband, as the singer announced today that she is to separate from her husband of four years, Ashley Cole, amid allegations of him cheating again.
After being previously rocked by claims that Ashley cheated on her in 2007, 27-year-old Cheryl stood by her man and even went on to talk about starting a family with him. “Having a baby is important to me because I am from a big family, I have friends who have put it off and I don’t want to do that,” she's said previously.
However, further stories about the Premiership footballer playing away from home have surfaced over the past few weeks, leaving the Girls Aloud star's marriage in tatters.
The Fight For This Love singer’s baby talk sent bookies into a frenzy with bets of a 2010 tot for the couple bringing in the odds of 5/2 at Paddy Power. However, following the announcement of their separation today, we’re predicting the bets will most definitely be off.
“Cheryl Cole is separating from her husband Ashley Cole. Cheryl asks the media to respect her privacy during this difficult time. We have no further comment to make,” said the official statement from the singer's management.
After affectionately rubbing her fellow X Factor judge Dannii Minogue’s pregnant tum at a recent awards bash and gushing on how she wants to be pregnant “sooner rather than later”, it seems that Cheryl’s baby hopes with soon-to-be ex-hubby Ashley are no more.
Chin up Cheryl.
