Chrissy Teigen and John Legend learn to swim - for baby Luna
The supermodel mum and popstar dad have revealed they can’t swim, and why they want to change that...
They might have celebrated US Independence Day by floating around a swimming pool in the Hamptons – but new parents Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have revealed what could have happened if they’d fallen off their rubber dingy.
A lot of frantic thrashing around because, as it turns out, neither celeb knows how to swim.
Chrissy made a few jokes about the fact that she and John aren't naturals in the water on her Instagram, posting a few sunny holiday snaps from the pool.
‘Hashtag can’t swim,” she wrote beside the image.
The supermodel, who gave birth to baby Luna Simone in April, elaborated on her Instagram confession in a chat with People magazine:
“I can’t swim, but I’m trying to learn for Luna, of course,” she admitted.
“There is nothing I want to do more than to get her into the water and for her to learn to swim.
“We don’t want to be helpless in any way, so we’re going to try to learn for Luna.”
The new mum also shared the reason why she and her hubby never learned to swim – and it has nothing to do with being afraid.
“I have no fear of water. John has no fear of water. We just didn’t have water in our face when we were growing up.”
Of course, the Teigen/Legend family won't need to trek to their local swimming pool to practise.
"We're going to have someone come to the house," she added.
We gotta admit… Mum, dad, and baby all wearing armbands and floatation rings would definitely make a cute Instagram snap for Chrissy’s 7.5m followers.
But who's going to be able to swim a length first?
Here's wishing them well with the swimming lessons. ?
