Shunning multi-million pound deals for the first picture of their son Kai, Coleen and Wayne Rooney have so far managed to keep their 5-month-old son out of the spotlight. However, an eagle eyed snapper spotted Kai cuddling up to his mum at the Grand National in Aintree, showing his adorable face to the public for the first time since he was born in November last year.

Looking the spitting image of his Manchester United football star dad Wayne, 24, the little lad has fair skin, reddish hair and blue eyes. Sitting on the lap of mum Coleen, 24, playing with a betting slip, Kai was dressed in a pastel blue babygro with matching dummy.

Despite the cute pictures being leaked by a Sunday newspaper show Kai looking happy and healthy, the Rooney family aren’t happy about their son’s picture being printed on the front page. Flouting a ban they imposed when Kai was born on printing pictures of him, the couple have issued legal warnings to the newspaper.

“The pictures were completely unauthorised. And the rules haven’t changed at all. It remains Wayne and Coleen’s wish that their child’s rights of privacy are fully protected. We are now talking to our lawyers,” Ian Monk, the couple’s PR, has said.

"When Coleen and her family arrived with baby Kai they were surrounded by a huge team of security guards who shielded them from the lenses of cameramen,” a source told Clicked Liverpool. "It was clear that they did not want baby Kai's picture to be taken at all. When the picture of Coleen holding Kai was taken, they must have dropped their guard for a moment.”
