Corrie's Jennie McAlpine has baby boy
Coronation Street actress gives her son an old-fashioned name
Jennie McAlpine has given birth to a baby boy. The Coronation Street actress and her partner Chris Farr tweeted that they are full of "happiness and pride" at the arrival of their first child. They also revealed their baby's traditional and old-fashioned name – Albert.
"On Saturday our lives changed forever with the arrival of our baby boy Albert," the new mum tweeted. "Happiness and pride like never before."
There has been a flurry of Coronation Street real-life pregnancies and babies in the past year, including:
- Catherine Tyldesley who plays Eva Price
- Tina O'Brien who played Sarah-Louise Platt
- Jack P Shepherd who plays David Platt
- Alan Halsall who plays Tyrone Dobbs and Lucy-Jo Hudson who played Katy Harris
Jennie and Chris have been together since 2005 and announced that they were expecting their first child in May. Jennie, 30, has played Fiz Stape on Corrie since 2001 and even acted out a live birth on the soap for the show's live 50th anniversary in 2010. We wonder how the real thing compared! Congratulations both.
