Crying babies named biggest plane annoyance
Passengers rate babies’ crying as the biggest irritant on flights
More than 24% of people surveyed by the flight comparison website Fly.com have said crying babies are the biggest annoyance while flying.
Wailing children were rated more irritating than passengers who talk loudly, listen to loud music, snore or even those who kick the seat in front of them.
“Sadly, not much can be done to stop babies crying,” said a Fly.com spokeswoman. However, she did suggest that family-only areas could be a future possibility to contain the noise and ease parents’ embarrassment.
Babies are allowed to fly on most airlines from around 2 weeks old but many little ones may cry as their ears can be more sensitive to changes in air pressure.
