What you might not know is that every year on September 6th, Disney celebrates Disney+ Day with a range of reveals and new content drops on the platform. Well, that's what would have been today but it seems Disney+ aren't celebrating it officially this year. That doesn't mean there aren't new releases to enjoy, though. We’ve put together a guide to help you make the most of everything Disney+ has to offer.

What is Disney Plus Day?

The event was first held in 2021 to coincide with the 2-year anniversary of the launch of Disney+ in America.

Last year we saw the streaming premiere of Marvel's Thor: Love & Thunder as well as the launch of Pixar's series Cars on the Road, which featured the return of Lightning McQueen.

Previous years have also coincided with Disney's D23 Expo where they reveal exciting news about upcoming movies and TV shows in the works.

While Disney+ aren't officially celebrating Disney Plus Day as a single day this year, you can still expect new blockbusters to launch on Disney+ ready to enjoy at home with the whole family as well as the premieres of new shows from some of Disney's most exciting universes and much more.

When is Disney Plus Day 2023?

Disney+ Day isn't officially taking place this year, but ordinarily it would have fallen on Wednesday 6th September.

Disney+ is offering new and returning subscribers a Disney+ subscription for £1.99 a month for the first three months. After the first 3 months, the price will return to £7.99 per month or £79.90 for the year.

Wondering how many devices you can stream Disney Plus on at the same time? You can stream content simultaneously on up to 4 devices so your children could be enjoying the new live-action The Little Mermaid when it debuts while you watch the latest episode of the blockbuster Star Wars series Ahsoka.

How long does Disney Plus Day 2023 last?

Disney+ Day usually lasts for 1 day with reveals and news coming across the Disney+ social media channels throughout the day. This year, with the event not being officially celebrated, you an expect the reveals and the new premieres to keep on coming. Disney's D23 conference takes place from 8th-10th September this year, so you can expect a lot of Disney news in the coming weeks. It is worth noting that the movies and TV shows that premiere will remain on the streaming service until otherwise noted.
