EastEnders’ Rita Simons confesses to extreme post-baby exercise regime
Albert Square’s Roxy Mitchell is determined to keep off the baby weight
Her brassy and carefree character in EastEnders is a far cry from Rita Simons’ real life – as a self-confessed fitness and control freak!
Talking to Closer magazine, the actress behind the character Roxy Mitchell has confessed to going back to the gym as soon as her caesarean scar healed after giving birth to twin girls. Calling herself “hardcore” when it comes to exercise, the 32-year-old mum-of-two is determined to battle what she calls her “muffin top”.
“If I don’t get my cardio in, I suffer from anxiety. I get nervy and feel rubbish,” she admitted in the interview. “I’m hardcore! I’ve walked out of aerobics classes because the teacher wasn’t giving it enough welly,” Rita also said.
Despite the actress being a svelte size 8-10, she admits that she’s never happy with how she looks, “I’d like perkier boobs, I hate my nose and the muffin top I’ve had since the children is the bane of my existence!”
Rita’s twin girls, Jaimee and Maiya, are now 3.
