EastEnders star Rita Simons talks about her deaf daughter
Actress reveals that one of her twin daughters suffers from hearing difficulties
EastEnders actress Rita Simons has opened up about her 4-year-old daughter's struggle with her hearing.
Talking at a Christmas event run by the Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID), the 33-year-old star revealed one of twin daughter's wears a hearing aid.
"I'm supporting RNID, as my daughter Maiya has severe hearing difficulties, so it's great that RNID are putting on a carol service that everyone can enjoy," Rita told the Daily Mail. "People are often unaware of deafness as it's something you can't see. Having all these beautiful children signing the carols this evening is such a good way to raise deaf awareness."
Rita is also mum to Maiya's twin sister Jaimee with her hairdresser husband Theo Silverston.
