Eddie Redmayne and Hannah Bagshawe's VERY unusual baby surname decision
We've heard of double-barrelled surnames, and creating a new surname from both parents' names - but what do you make of what Eddie and Hannah have done?
Huge congrats to Theory Of Everything star Eddie Redmayne and his wife Hannah Bagshawe, who have become parents for the second time ?
Hannah gave birth to a little boy, Luke, last Saturday - a younger brother for their 21-month-old daughter, Iris.
Luke's a gorgeous first name - but we were very interested to hear that the couple have done something rather unusual for their new baby's surname.
The baby's full name is Luke Richard Bagshawe. His big sis' full name is Iris Mary Redmayne.
Yep, the siblings have different surnames - one from mum and one from dad.
In the interests of equality we quite like this idea, though we do wonder if it could get complicated at some point, along the way.
For example, Eddie and Hannah might want to think about having the kids' birth certificates on them in situations like travel - where they might be required to show them if parents and children's surnames differ.
And if they have a third baby (or more) - which name will they take? ?
What do you think?
Do you like the Redmayne/Bagshawe approach? Or do you think it could get complicated?
