Mums defend Emma McVey for wearing make-up and showering 7 days post-baby
So new mums aren't allowed to pop on a bit of lippie now? ???
Here at MFM HQ, we sometimes wonder why celebs bother posting anything at all on their social media accounts, particularly when it comes to parenting...
Because there's a pretty high chance it won't be long before haters start hating ?
That's exactly what happened when brand new mum Emma McVey, girlfriend of Geordie Shore star Gaz Beadle, shared this pic of her in a bath robe next to her shower with the caption:
"I had a whole 4 hours sleep this morning and feel like a new woman ??? "
(Given that she gave birth to her 1st child, Chester Raymond Beadle McVey, about a week ago, we're not surprised she feels that way...)
We've had a good scroll through her Instagram, and it looks as though the offending comments have been deleted (???)
But it's pretty clear from what others have said that Emma was getting criticised for, well, basically: showering, doing her hair and popping some make-up on ?
One fan said this: “I personally think everyone just needs to leave @emma_jane1392 alone!…Just leave her be! If she wants to put some make up why not?
"It's not a crime! Just leave her alone, this is a happy time for her and @gazgshore & people just need to leave them alone! Well done girl for bringing an amazing, cute little boy into the world!”
Another reckons Emma's course of action is exactly the right thing to do to make you feel better when you're knackered and coping with the highs and lows of a newborn:
"@emma_jane1392 I don't normally comment on these but I’ve got 3 and I never felt better till I put make up on.
"Made me feel and still does to this day, human again xx"
And finally this: "My daughter is now 5 months old and I’ve always put the effort in to put make up on,why not?
"Just because you're a new mum does not mean you can’t put make up on and make yourself feel good! You look gorgeous Emma!?xx"
Now we know a full face of slap when you have a baby (or even if you don't) isn't for everyone (Cheryl recently admitted she doesn't bother so much now she's a mum) - but if it works for you and makes you feel better, why on earth wouldn't you? ✊
