The toddler who played Leo Dingle in the ITV soap Emmerdale has died. Emmerdale bosses and cast paid a special tribute to little Harry Whittaker, who played Marlon Dingle and Rhona’s son, at the end of last night’s episode.

"To Harry, With Love", read the on-screen tribute to the Harry, who had Down’s Syndrome – like the little boy character he played.

Mark Charnock, who plays his on-screen dad Marlon, tweeted: "Our superhero. We were lucky to know you and hear your laugh. You lit up our lives, dearest, loveliest Harry."

After receiving an overwhelming response from well-wishers, he added: "Thank you all. We’ll all pass on your overwhelming response to Harry’s amazing family. Thank you for all your kind words. It means a lot. Xx"

"We will all miss Harry greatly and have offered our sincerest condolences to his family at this very sad time," an Emmerdale spokesperson said.
