And now it's the turn of car seat and buggy manufacturer Britax, which is releasing a limited-edition Trifix - The Black Edition - car seat.

The German brand is not necessarily known for being a high-end brand and is more synonymous with safety than style. But it's taken its award-winning Group 1 Trifix seat and given it a makeover. Now it would fit comfortably into the back of any luxury sports car.

Britax hopes this seat will appeal to “parents who want to stay true to their design and style ideas as well as giving them the freedom to steer clear of any compromises when it comes to child safety”.

Suitable from 9 to 18 kg (approximately 9 months to 4 years), the Trifix Black Edition is ISOFIX compatible, has a carbon gloss black and space grey shell wrapped around a handmade leather and cotton seat unit.

But what makes it even more special, according to Britax, is that the seats are handmade in a small German town situated on the River Danube by employees so dedicated to creating a superior chair that they wear white gloves at all times.

Hmm, we’re not sure quite how powerful those white gloves are as a major selling point, but we can say that the seat is luxuriously soft and comfortable. How do we know this? Because we saw and coveted it at this year’s Kind & Jugend Baby & Toddler Show.

In fact our favorite features include the hand-stitched leather and indulgently soft cotton used on the interior of the car seat. Plus the carbon panelling on the side and base of the seat looks almost Porsche inspired.

However if you want to sport this luxury car seat, you’'ll need to part with £899. Only 500 of these seats have been made, and each will come with a handwritten booklet from Britax and the seamstress who worked on the car seat (in white gloves we hope) for that personal touch.
