Parenting can be tough whatever your sitch - but if you're a mum whose partner is often away and you're tempted to say you feel like a single mum a lot of the time, maybe you should think twice.

Or, at least, that's what Mom Cave TV's Jennifer Weedon Palazzo says.

The mum of 2 explains that, because her husband Evan is often away, she's regularly left to look after her babies alone.

But - she admits - that's a world away from being a single parent.

"I’ve heard other married women in my situation say they feel, ‘just like a single mum,’" she says.

"And while I get a feeling like you are doing it all on your own, feeling like you are doing it on your own is not the same as actually doing it on your own.

“I know that I’m lucky because while I’m home amidst all the chaos, there is somebody else out there who is working hard to support us, and is a responsible party in this whole responsible parenting thing.”

She goes on to give single mums the praise they deserve, saying: “Holy sh*t, you are doing an amazing job.” ?

Here at MFM HQ, the vid really got our team talking. One of our mums says when her husband works away for 2 to 3 months at a time (which he does regularly) she does feel a bit like a single mum - though Jennifer's comments have made her think again about that, as, she says:

"I do at least have someone at the other end of the phone I can offload to about all the parenting stuff which, I guess, lots of single mums don't have.

"I never thought of it that way before. Jennifer's post has definitely got me thinking in a new way."

Hmmmm, interesting ?

What do you think?

What do you make of Jennifer's comments? Is it spot on? Or is it fair enough to say you you're 'single' parent if your other half's not around too much?
