First look at the brand new Bugaboo Ant compact stroller
The lightweight stroller has been designed with city living and travel in mind, weighing just 7.2kg
Bugaboo has expanded its stand-out range of pushchairs with the release of its most compact stroller to date – the Bugaboo Ant.
The Ant has been designed for city living and travel, so is the lightest and most compact stroller in their range weighing just 7.2kg.
In comparison, that’s more than 2kg lighter than what was the brand’s lightest pushchair, the Bugaboo Bee5 (9.4kg).
The lightweight frame and integrated four-wheel suspension promise a comfortable ride, and it can be used from birth to an above average 22kg.
What are the best features of the Bugaboo Ant?
Once folded the stroller measures 55cm x 38cm x 23cm, so should be compact enough to fit into the overhead compartments of trains and planes (although check with your airline). This makes it an appealing travel purchase if you’re taking a little one on holiday, or often use public transport. Once folded, it can even be pulled along like a suitcase.
Bugaboo has also designed the stroller with storage in mind – it has a rear luggage basket which holds 5kg and underseat basket which holds 3kg.
Despite it’s compact size, it doesn’t sacrifice style or features. The Ant has one handed steering and an adjustable handlebar, making it comfortable for parents of all heights to use.
The Ant also gives you the option to have your little one parent facing or forward facing with its reversible seat unit.
Is the Ant travel system compatible?
Yes – the Ant can be used with Bugaboo’s new Turtle car seat (which you can get your hands on from August 15th) to make a travel system.
Other compatible car seats include:
- Maxi-Cosi Pebble Plus
- Maxi-Cosi Rock
- Cybex Aton Q
- Cybex Aton 5
- Cybex Aton M i-Size
- BeSafe iZi Go Modular
- BeSafe iZi Go X1
What do you get with the Bugaboo Ant?
For £429 you get the chassis and style set which includes the seat fabrics, sun canopy, wheel caps and side panels.
The Ant will be available on limited release at John Lewis from 1st July, after which it’ll be widely available from Bugaboo and other retailers from 1st September.
