Free sports equipment for young children
As the child benefit debate rumbles on, children can access free sports gear thanks to new scheme
With the debate over scrapping child benefits hogging the headlines, we’ve got a glimmer of good news for active children. A new scheme to give nurseries free sports equipment for children to use is proving popular with carers nationwide.
The Haven Fun and Fitness scheme gives nurseries free sports equipment to help encourage children to enjoy sport and learn about the importance of physical activities to help keep them fit.
More than 1,000 play groups and nurseries have registered for the scheme, which gives out up to £250 of free sports gear, including balls, hoops, cones and skipping ropes, for children to use.
