Gavin Henson reveals fatherhood struggles
Rugby and Strictly Come Dancing star admits finding it difficult having limited access to his children
Gavin Henson has revealed that he’s finding it hard to be a good dad to his children, Ruby, 3, and Dexter, 20 months after separating from their mum, Charlotte Church.
According to press reports, Charlotte has recently started seeing songwriter Jonathan Powell. Gavin, 28, has remained single and has struggled with watching his ex-fiancée’s new friendship develop in the press.
“It's the worst thing in the world to see your kids being brought up by another fella. It's not nice at all," Gavin told the BBC
“I don't want people feeling sorry for me, it goes on and I've got to deal with it and I'm dealing with it.”
Gavin also admitted that, although he doesn’t see his children often, he’s still trying to play an important role in their lives.
“I’m trying to be the best dad I can be when I do see my kids, which is limited, which is tough as well,” explained dad Gavin.
“But I want my kids to see me play rugby again, I want them to be proud of me. I’d love for Dexter to play rugby as well, I really would.”
