Actress Halle Berry has found herself involved in an angry custody battle with her ex-partner Gabriel Aubry over access to their toddler daughter Nahla.

When the couple divorced in December 2010, it looked like things were amicable between them, especially as 2-year-old Nahla had been spotted with both her parents on numerous occasions. However, despite Halle, 44, moving on and now being in a relationship with Spanish actor Olivier Martinez, the battle between her and Gabriel, 35, is starting to turn ugly.

In a case of "he said, she said", the couple have publicly accused each other of bad parenting and verbal abuse, including Halle claiming she's tired of 'supporting' her model ex-husband.

According to reports by People.com, Halle's already strained relationship with Gabriel has recently become worse after Gabriel refused to travel to New York to look after Nahla whilst Halle was shooting a film. His refusal meant that Halle had to cancel her film commitments and was replaced by fellow actress Katherine Heigl.

However, the story changed after a statement was released by Halle's representative. "Halle has serious concerns for her daughter's well-being while in the care of her father for any extended period of time and is prepared to take all necessary steps to protect her."

Because of Halle's personal yet public referral to her ex-partner's ability as a parent, Gabriel also spoke out, "While Gabriel is disappointed in Halle's decision to falsely malign him publicly and for her own purposes, he refuses to be pulled into her dispute over a cancelled film production."

The couple were granted joint custody of Nahla when they divorced and the case is now being evaluated as to whether Halle will get full custody following her claims that Gabriel is an unfit parent. We hope they can work things out, although for now, you'll just have to watch this space...
