Ideal age for potty training discovered
Timing, not potty training technique, is the key, says study
The best time to start potty training your toddler is between 24 and 32 months, according to a new study.
The study also found that getting the timing of toilet training right was more of a key to success than the specific technique used.
"This gives parents a guideline for the best time to begin training with their children," said Dr Barone who led the study. "Parents do not need to feel pressure, but they can be proactive and start training exercises before the child is 32 months old."
The study of 150 children found that children who were potty trained after 32 months were more likely to wet themselves in the day, wet the bed at night and suffer other urge incontinence issues.
