James McAvoy turns down movie role for his unborn baby
Actor loses out on £1 million pay cheque, so he doesn’t miss his baby’s birth
Some say that James McAvoy, 30, and Anne-Marie Duff, 39, are the most down to earth Hollywood couple with their unstarry attitude towards fame. Dad-to-be James has cemented this reputation after rumours that he gave up a seven-figure sum acting role so he can be there for his pregnant wife when she gives birth to their first baby.
The former Shameless stars who’ve been married since 2003, announced their happy baby news in January after previously admitting that they experienced problems conceiving. Filming for the upcoming film, I’m With Cancer, is due to start tomorrow but actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been brought in to replace James’ role. It is thought the reasons behind him pulling out is because it clashes with the birth of his baby.
“It’s incredibly unfortunate that circumstances outside of everyone’s control have taken James away from the project. We all look forward to working with James in the future,” the producer of the film Seth Rogen has said.
“James wants to be there when his baby is born,” an insider told The Daily Telegraph.
