Jessie Ware launches pregnancy podcast Is It Normal?
Singer and Table Manners star Jessie Ware's new pregnancy podcast follows her 3rd pregnancy week-by-week
Singer and Table Manners podcaster Jessie Ware has launched a brilliantly honest new pregnancy podcast, Is It Normal?, to reassure women going through pregnancy symptoms and body changes.
Despite this being her third pregnancy, Jessie still worried about symptoms and changes she was experiencing.
“When I was pregnant with my first child back in 2016, I became addicted to Googling every potential symptom or worry I had during my pregnancy. It was relentless. And most of the time, it was more worrying than helpful,” Jessie tells us.
“Back then, I would have loved more voices that reassured and empowered me, through understanding the amazing things that my body was doing in pregnancy and then in birth. Every person’s pregnancy and birth is different. And it is totally normal for people to experience it differently. I wanted to acknowledge that. Sometimes having a voice in your ear can be more reassuring than a Google search.”
Jessie recorded the podcast during her 3rd pregnancy at a time when Covid has made pregnancy even more isolating and stressful. Jessie worked hand in hand on the podcast with two health professionals: consultant obstetrician Jess Mcmicking and midwife Isabelle Bourton, plus she also talks to doulas, mental health experts, home birth midwives, nutritionists and more.
You can listen and subscribe to Is It Normal on Apple, Spotify, Acast or wherever you listen to your podcasts. The first episodes are launched on 20 September 2021.
