Jools Oliver teases ‘boy or girl?’ with pendulum test Instagram post
Oooooh, but which way did it swing?
While some of us like a surprise when our baby is born… the rest of us just can’t waaait to find out whether or not we’re having a boy or a girl.
And it seems like pregnant Jools Oliver needs an answer, too!
The mum-of-4 (soon to be mum-of-5) shared a picture of herself undergoing the ‘pendulum test’ on Instagram.
The ‘pendulum test’ is one of MANY old wives' tales that claim to predict the sex of your baby.
“Asking the pendulum if our little baby is a boy or a girl??? Loving my Wednesday yoga thanks Nards @nadianarain so fun @jamieoliver ✨ xxx” she captioned the sweet photo.
Apparently, if the pendulum swings back and forth near your belly, you’re expecting a boy. But if it moves in a circular motion, you’ll be having a girl.
While this test is just a bit of fun, the fact Jools didn’t reveal which way the pendulum swung sent some of her Instagram followers into a bit of a frenzy.
“And??? Boy or girl? My pendulum always tells me a boy (I have already) and a girl (never arrived)?” wrote one fan.
“Which way did it swing? This worked for us ??” asked another.
But some fans were a bit more sceptical, wondering: “Why not just ask the doc? ??”
Jools is probably just teasing – something she's already done once before - because she's 7 months along and may already know what she's having.
But we just can’t wait to see if she and husband Jamie Oliver will be needing another floral-inspired name choice.
The couple already has three daughters together: Petal Blossom, Daisy Boo and Poppy Honey. They also have a son, named Buddy Bear. They announced they were expecting baby no 5 in March this year.
So, have you tried the pendulum test – and did it work? What other old wives' tales did you try and what did they reveal? Let us know on Facebook
