Happily the Countryfile presenter has announced she’s now "ecstatically happy to be pregnant" after a course of IVF.

"It’s no secret that our son Zephyr was a longed-for baby, and we are thrilled at the prospect of having a brother or sister for him," she said. "As an older mum I feel incredibly lucky. I’ve reached the 3-month mark and am keeping as fit and healthy as possible."

Julia had her first child at the age of 41, 2 years into her relationship with property developer Gerard Cunningham, 55.

When they started trying for a baby she wasn’t sure it would happen as she’d been diagnosed with endometriosis – a painful condition which can affect fertility.

Then, when she became pregnant with Zephyr she was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia and eventually had to be induced. Unsurprisingly she later described her first pregnancy as "traumatic towards the end".

But at the end of last year, Julia was keen to try for another baby.

"I would love Zeph to have a brother or sister but I am 43 and have to be realistic," she said at the time.

Congratulations Julia!
