Kelly Brook loses her baby at nearly five months
Actress and partner Thom Evans are devastated after late miscarriage
Kelly Brook has had a heartbreaking miscarriage, losing her baby at just under 5 months of pregnancy.
Kelly, 31, and boyfriend Thom Evans are now back in her Kent home, trying to come to terms with the loss of the baby girl that they had become so excited about. Kelly had revealed her unexpected pregnancy last month, tweeting, “Thom and I are happy to announce we are expecting a baby girl. We are delighted XXXX.”
Tonight a spokesperson for Kelly told the Daily Mail, “I can confirm that Kelly and Thom have very sadly lost their baby.”
Former rugby international star Thom had only been going out with Kelly for about three months when she discovered she was pregnant. Although the baby was unplanned, Kelly revealed that she was elated to be pregnant and talked about Thom being “the one”. Thom was her first serious boyfriend since she split with Danny Cipriani in June last year.
They were seen happily out together strolling around London last week, with Kelly in a bump-skimming floral dress. She had also been talking to New Look about designing a new range of maternity wear. However, by the end of last week, she’d been rushed into hospital and suffered a miscarriage.
The couple’s news has already caused an outpouring of sad tweets from fans and celebrity friends. Dannii Minogue wrote on her Twitter page, “Sending big love to Kelly Brook and Thomas Evans” while Denise Van Outen tweeted “OMG.. That’s awful news. I’m so sad for them x”
Kelly is the third high profile celebrity after Amanda Holden and Lily Allen to lose her baby at a late stage.
It’s important to remember that late miscarriages are relatively rare. Aches and pains are common in pregnancy and even bleeding doesn't have to mean there's a serious problem. If you are worried about your pregnancy though, talk to your local midwife or GP.
