Kerri Walsh Jennings reveals Olympic pregnancy
Beach volleyball gold medallist was five weeks pregnant when she won
US beach volleyball gold medallist Kerri Walsh Jennings has confirmed she’s pregnant with her third child and that she was 'with child' while competing in London this summer.
Kerri, who won her third Olympic gold medal with partner Misty May-Treanor at the London Olympics in August, was five weeks along when she jumped and spiked her way to victory.
Speaking to TODAY, Kerri said she was unaware of her pregnancy during the Olympics but noticed her period was four days late, “I’m a pretty happy girl and I was reasonably moody.”
“I thought it could have been the stress of the games and travel kind of throws your schedule off, but I knew at some point, you’re late and then you start feeling something. And I definitely started feeling something in London.”
According to Kerri’s expert trainer her vigorous Olympics activities didn’t endanger her unborn child. As far as the pregnancy goes, however, Kerri says that she has been sick every day and that this baby is "kicking her butt."
