Kim Kardashian defends her 'wear a blanket' pregnancy-fashion advice
Mrs Kanye West takes to Twitter to insist she was being 'sarcastic' in Elle magazine interview
Kim Kardashian has been defending herself on Twitter after people failed to see the funny side of her 'top' pregnancy-style tips: 'Wear a huge blanket" and "Never leave the house".
The mum-of-1 made the light-hearted comments when she was asked about maternity fashion for a interview with Elle magazine – and it seems lots of folk have taken her far too seriously.
"I recommend hiding for a good year and having no pregnancy style," she said as she did the interview with her sisters Khloe and Kourtney.
"That's what I recommend. If you can do it, hide. Never leave the house... Wear a huge blanket."
But Kim's comments immediately caused a blacklash from several US columnists, including this withering attack on her own pregnancy style in US Weekly:"Kardashian's advice perhaps stems from her own negative experience with frequent excursions during her pregnancy."
Ouch!
So, Kim got straight on to Twitter feed to insist it was all a joke.
“I guess you can't be sarcastic when doing interviews!" she tweeted.
"I was asked about tips on pregnancy style... I jokingly said pregnant woman should hide/stay in if they looked like I did.
"I really should start videotaping the interviews I do and post them on my website, so you can see the laughs and how it's really said."
She also admitted that her sister Kourtney, who's expecting her 3rd child with longtime beau Scott Disick, has a better grip on maternity fashion that she does. "I said, 'Ask Kourt her tips because she has the best preg style.'"
