Kristina Rihanoff and Ben Cohen reveal their baby girl's Russian name
The Strictly Come Dancing couple also talked about Kristina's 'worrying' labour in a new interview...
Strictly stars Kristina Rihanoff and Ben Cohen have welcomed their daughter into the world - and have celebrated with a totally sweet family shoot for HELLO! Magazine.
37-year-old Ben and Kristina, 38, showed off their adorable baby girl - who weighed in at 7lb 1oz - for the first time.
During a chat with the mag, they made the big name reveal - and announced they've chosen 'Milena' for their little one.
Milena – a Slavic name which means ‘gracious’ and ‘pleasant’ – can be shortened to Mila, a nickname the new parents use frequently for their newborn throughout their chat with the mag.
Awww ?
We reckon it’s pretty obvious why Ben and Kristina chose a name of Slavic origin for their little one - she's half-Russian, as mum Kristina was born in Vladivostok, Russia.
The couple also opened up to HELLO! about the birth itself.
Kristina’s 19.5 hour labour did not go 100% smoothly (whose does?) as the umbilical cord was wrapped around Milena’s head.
"Every time Kristina pushed, the cord was pulling the baby back," Ben revealed.
"There comes a point when it is not happening and you do worry,” Kristina added. "I was squeezing [Ben’s] hand so hard that I thought I might break it."
"I can't even begin to describe the pain, but it's an incredibly proud moment when you see your baby for the first time. It's an incredible feeling of love."
Fortunately, Milena was born without any further complications, and the tot looks healthy (and rather sleepy) in this lovely first pic with her mum and dad.
This is Kristina’s first child, but fatherhood isn’t new to Ben. He’s also dad to 8-year-old twin girls, from his previous marriage.
Congrats to the new family!
