Maggie Gyllenhaal on how to hide pregnancy
Hollywood actress Maggie reveals she found it difficult to keep her pregnancy under wraps but has some tricks up her sleeve
Actress Maggie Gyllenhaal has revealed how she struggled to keep her pregnancy a secret for almost four months.
Maggie, 34, and husband Peter Sarsgaard, announced they were expecting their second child together in November last year.
“I didn’t let anyone know until three and a half months this time,” said Maggie in an interview with USA Today.
She explained the lengths she went to in order to keep her pregnancy on the down low. “I find it difficult to pretend you’re not pregnant, which I had to do. I went to film festivals. I’m throwing up in the bathroom and having to keep pretzels in my purse, and having to fit into dresses.” Since going public the Hollywood star is more than relieved that she can embrace her pregnancy, but hopes the media keep their distance.
“I’m so pregnant,” Maggie said, adding that she’s happy to be able to be able to wear comfy, loose clothes and have an excuse to take her shoes off.
If rumours are to be believed Maggie and hubby Peter, who are already parents to 5-year-old daughter Ramona, are expecting another little girl sometime this spring. According to reports the couple have decided to keep the exact due date to themselves in the hope of more privacy.
“I hope [the media doesn’t] make an issue of it this time,” said Maggie. “I have to think about that stuff.”
