Mark, 40, told Today magazine, “[All the tattoos] have meaning to me, but it’s both personal and professional. I don’t want my kids getting tattoos. And I wanted them to be [removed] by the time I did The Fighter because putting make-up on and covering them up has always been a pain in the butt.

“I’ve taken my two older kids to the procedure so they see how painful it is and what I have to go through.”

The Hollywood star’s inkings don’t only get in the way of his work but are reminders of his troubled past. A former drug addict, Mark claims to have been in trouble with the law an astonishing 25 times – including a attack that saw him charged with attempted murder.

Mark’s first tattoo, a shamrock on his ankle, was done unprofessionally as a teenager and later covered up by a larger Tweety Bird tat.

Dad to Ella Ray, Michael, Brendan Josephs, 3, and Grace Margaret, 2, spoke openly about his markings last month on The Late Show With David Letterman.

Mark was initially told it would take eight to 10 laser treatments to remove all his tattoos, however he’s undergone over 30 hours to date and is still in the process of getting them removed.

What do you think of Mark’s parenting style? Are you proud of your tattoos?
