Mila Kunis, Shayne Ward and Jensen Ackles reveal VERY unusual baby names
It’s been a brill few days for ‘sleb-style name choices...
This weekend’s been a special one - as several celebs revealed their babies had been born, and that they’d picked suitably slebby baby names.
Here are some of our faves...
Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher’s baby name
Mila gave birth to her and Ashton’s 2nd child, a baby boy, named Dimitri, after being papped looking chilled out in Studio City, California.
The happy news was announced on Ashton’s website, A Plus.
“A Plus is happy to announce that Dimitri Portwood Kutcher was born at 1:21 a.m. on November 30, weighing 8 pounds and 15 ounces.”
Aww ?
It’s been reported that the Russian name was chosen as a nod to Mila’s heritage (Mila was born in Ukraine and lived there until she was 7).
But a few eagle-eyed fans have pointed out that the name choice resembles the moniker of Ashton’s ex-wife, Demi Moore, who’s full name is said to be Demetria.
However, we're not 100% sure whether or not Demi is a nickname, so we’re not convinced this theory has much credibility!
Shayne Ward and Sophie Austin's baby name
Corrie star Shayne and ex-Hollyoaks actress Sophie are now first-time parents.
Shayne took to Twitter to share that the couple had welcomed a girl - named Willow May.
“Proud to share our incredible news. Me and Sophie had a beautiful baby girl. We are completely besotted and in love with the deepest of hearts. Our world, Willow May Ward ❤?”
Willow - an English name meaning ‘slender and graceful’ - takes its roots from nature, inspired by the tree of the same name.
Such a gorgeous choice - congrats ?
Jensen and Danneel Ackles' baby name
‘00s TV fans will know Jensen from Supernatural and Danneel from One Tree Hill – but their newborn twin boys will know them only as mum and dad!
The couple share 3-year-old daughter, Justice Jay, so we hoped their twins' names would be just as unusual.
And they definitely delivered...
Jensen made the announcement on Instagram:
“Danneel, JJ and I are excited to announce the birth of our twins Zeppelin Bram and Arrow Rhodes. They were born early yesterday morning. Everyone is doing great! #twinning”
Now those are some fab celeb baby names, right?
We love ‘em… especially since there seems to be an A-Z thing going on there.
Dapper Laughs and Shelley Rae's baby name
Despite previously vowing to Snapchat his baby’s birth it seems controversial internet personality Dapper Laughs had a change of heart.
He announced the birth of his first child with girlfriend Shelley Rae on social media, saying he found the experience so “emotional” and “private” that he couldn’t go through with his snap-happy plan.
But Dapper - real name Daniel O’Reilly - did reveal they’d picked the name Neve for their little girl.
Neve’s an interesting name, given that it has so many possible roots. It’s the English spelling of the Irish name Niamh, but it also means ‘snow’ in Italian and Portuguese.
It can also be pronounced in two different ways, according to Nameberry, as ‘nev’ or ‘neev’.
Meanwhile… Peter & Emily still can’t decide
Peter Andre and Emily MacDonagh are still deciding on a name for their newborn son.
There’s plenty of inspiration about (just see above), but it seems the couple have yet to come to a final decision.
They’re pretty famous for taking their time… and even Pete’s been joking about his baby boy’s lack of name on Twitter: “Had a beaut evening with Emily, J, P, Amelia and no name :)" he wrote after attending an event.
But it does seem he’s been trying to pick something out.
The star responded to a fan’s question with a list of his current faves: James, Theo and Benjamin, and confessed why one hadn’t been chosen yet: “All the other ones I loved the kids don’t like.”
It seems Junior, Princess AND Amelia will need to be in agreement with Emily and Peter before baby Andre gets his new name…
Let’s wait and see ?
