Miracle 5th baby for testicular cancer survivor Lance Armstrong
Champion cyclist and proud dad tweets his baby news after beating the odds again following chemo
It seems Lance Armstrong has super sperm! The champion cyclist and 7 times Tour De France winner has just announced that he and his girlfriend Anna Hansen have conceived naturally for the second time, despite having extensive chemotherapy to treat his testicular cancer.
Revealing all on Twitter, he tweeted "Getting questions today about someone I'm following, a certain @Cincoarmstrong. What to say? Yet another blessing in our lives. I cannot wait!"
As he did with his last baby, Max, Lance has been also tweeting on behalf of his baby-to-be. Baby No 5 has tweeted twice:
"I got 2 arms, 2 legs, a nickname and I'm 2 inches long. See y'all in October..."
"I'm now the size of a lemon, 3.5 inches long and weigh 1.5 ounces. And oh yeah, I'm on Twitter."
Lance survived testicular cancer in the mid 90s and had his sperm harvested before chemotherapy treatment which usually causes infertility.
He went on to have 3 children with his ex-wife Kristen via artificial insemination using his collected sperm. After his marriage broke up he then dated singer Sheryl Crow but it was reported they later parted due to his reluctance to have any more children.
However, after meeting his current partner Anna, the couple amazed cancer experts by conceiving naturally - not just once but twice - suggesting that Lance has incredibly strong sperm!
